2025 Performance Class Auditions
We are excited to announce that the 2025 Performance Class Audition Week will be held during the last week of Term 2 (1st July - 6th July) ahead of the start of Term 3. New intake for Dance North Academy performance classes is from Term 3 of that year and must be fulfilled to end of Term 2 of the following year. These routines are performed at the end-of-year concert and at the following year's eisteddfod season.

About our Performance Class Stream
Dance North Academy’s Performance Classes are an exclusive specialised training available for dancers from 6 years old, who possess a passion and talent for performance. Performance Class routines will represent Dance North Academy during the year at various eisteddfods and competitions in Sydney.
Performance Classes encompass a variety of styles such as Contemporary, Modern, Commercial Lyrical, Jazz, Broadway/Musical Theatre, and Classical Ballet. Click here to learn more about what performance class styles we offer.
The Audition Process
Performance Class students are subject to an audition/application process and are to undergo a minimum of two ballet classes a week as a prerequisite. Performance classes have a strong focus on technique, which is why a minimum of two ballet classes a week is compulsory.
For new DNA students you are required to audition in the age group that reflects your age as of July 1st 2024. For existing DNA students you are required to audition in your regular Performance classes. For example, if you are currently in the 10/U Performance Jazz class and are turning 11 this year, you will be auditioning for the 2025 12/U Performance Jazz class during your regular 10/U Performance Jazz class time on Friday from 3:45 – 4:45pm.
As of 2024, one technique class a week will also be compulsory for all performance students, to ensure that students are up to the technical standard required to compete in all genres.
All applicants (even existing DNA Performance Class students) are required to audition and complete their online registration to attend the audition.
Can’t Make The Audition?
Applicants who are unavailable to make the audition during their regular class time may complete an online audition. There is an option to upload a video link in the online registration form below.
Online audition requirements are a video no longer than 2 minutes in length of a solo of your dance style of choice from the last 6 months.
